ACCOUNT / SUBSCRIPTION

Account & subscriptions

First check whether you can access your account and whether your subscription is active. Then troubleshoot importing and moving to another device. Client settings and your account in the panel are separate things to check.

Do I need an email address to create an account? How should I protect my account details?

No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password, then store them in a trusted password manager and confirm you can sign in to the user panel. Since accounts aren't linked to email addresses, don't rely on email recovery as the default option. If you can't access your account, first check your keyboard input, capitalization and saved username. If that doesn't help, describe the issue through a support ticket in the panel, if you can access it. Include only the order details needed to identify your purchase. Never send your password, full subscription link or sensitive payment information.

Where can I find my subscription link, and how do I update routes in my client?

Sign in to access your subscription. Check its status in the user panel, copy the link from the subscription section, then import or update it from your client's subscription manager. If you already have a subscription profile, update it rather than repeatedly creating profiles with the same name, which can make it easy to select an outdated one. Once the update is complete, check the active profile and route before connecting. Your subscription link grants access to your account, so paste it only into a trusted client. Hide the full link in screenshots, public posts and support tickets. If an update fails, save the exact error message and continue with the connection troubleshooting steps.

Do I need to buy another plan when I switch devices? Can I use it on multiple devices at once?

There is no device limit for simultaneous connections, so switching devices alone doesn't mean you need another plan. Sign in to the same account on your new device, get the client and subscription from the user panel, and check that the subscription imports correctly. Monthly subscription traffic follows your account's plan; unlimited devices doesn't mean each device gets a separate data allowance. When you stop using an old device, remove its saved subscription profile and sign out—especially before handing the device to someone else. If only the new device has connection problems, check its client permissions, active profile and local network before placing another order.

Which platforms are supported? Can I download the client directly from this page?

Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux are supported. Download clients from the user panel; this help page doesn't provide direct installer links. Sign in to access your subscription. You can download a client after signing in without purchasing a plan, except on iOS, where available options depend on your account status in the panel. Make sure you select the right platform for your device. After installing the client, return to the panel to import your subscription. Installation alone doesn't complete the connection: check that the profile is enabled, the required system permissions are granted and the app you want to use is actually using the relevant network settings.

CONNECTION / DIAGNOSTICS

Connections & troubleshooting

First work out whether the client can't connect, connects but can't access websites, or has problems with a specific app. Change one setting at a time so you can identify the cause.

The client won't connect at all. Where should I start troubleshooting?

Disconnect the client and check whether your local network can open everyday websites. If the local connection itself isn't working, restore it before troubleshooting the proxy. Then sign in to the panel to check your subscription status and available data. Update the subscription in the client, confirm that you're using the current profile rather than an old one, and check that the required system permissions are enabled. Try another route for comparison, but change only one setting at a time. Keep a note of each change and its result, and save the client's exact error message. If multiple routes fail on different local networks, submit a support ticket with these details.

The client says it's connected, but websites still won't load. What should I do?

A connected status usually means the client established a connection, not that every request to a website succeeded. First check whether other sites load. Then confirm that your browser isn't using separate proxy settings and that no other network-routing tools are running on your system. Check the client's current mode, rules and DNS settings to make sure requests aren't taking an unsuitable route despite the connection. You can disconnect, restore your system's default network settings and reconnect by following the client instructions. Don't enter DNS addresses from untrusted sources. If the problem affects only one site, note its domain and the error message instead of reinstalling everything.

Why does the proxy work in some apps but not in one particular app?

Apps can use different network paths, so access in your browser doesn't mean every app uses the same proxy settings. Check whether per-app routing is enabled in the client and whether the app is excluded. Then see if the current rules send the app's domain directly. Desktop apps may also have their own proxy settings, so check the app's documentation. If the client has a mode that routes more app traffic, review its permissions and impact before testing it, then restore your original settings afterward. In a support ticket, include the app name, operating system, proxy mode and exact error message. Don't send the app's account password.

What should I do if a subscription update fails or the connection drops when a mobile app goes into the background?

Troubleshoot these issues separately. If a subscription update fails, check that the panel is accessible, the link was copied in full and the client hasn't reported an invalid address, request failure or subscription-status error. Don't submit the link to a public testing site. If a mobile connection drops in the background, check whether the system restricts background activity, a battery-saving mode is enabled or connection permissions have expired. Follow your device's instructions to allow necessary background activity, then compare what happens before and after locking the screen. If the connection also drops in the foreground, check the route and local network. When reporting the issue, say whether it occurs during import, foreground use or background activity.

SPEED / ROUTING

Speed & routes

Choose a route based on the region required by your target service and the results you get. Keep the task consistent when comparing routes so platform restrictions aren't mistaken for connection problems.

Which regions are covered, and how should I choose a route?

X8VPN covers 90+ countries and 220+ routes. The routes available to you are shown in the list after the client updates. First check which regions the service you're accessing requires, then compare routes in those regions based on how they perform for your use. A closer region isn't always best for every task, and choosing the right region doesn't guarantee a platform will accept a connection. Test one app and one activity consistently across routes, noting whether access works and how often it drops. Keep the route that works best on your current network. Regions shown on the page don't guarantee availability in a particular city, a specific route type or support for a particular platform. Check actual access at the time you use the service.

How can I tell whether peak-hour slowdowns are caused by my local network or a route?

Pause downloads, cloud sync and other network-heavy tasks on your devices, then compare access to everyday sites and the service you're using. If regular browsing is also slow with the proxy off, check your local network, Wi-Fi signal and connection environment first. If only one route is slow, keep the app and content the same and compare it with another available route. If only one platform is affected, the platform itself may be the cause. Don't judge the entire service from a single speed test. In a support ticket, include when it happened, the selected region, what you were doing and the result of switching routes. That's more useful than simply saying the connection is slow.

An AI tool or streaming service says its region isn't supported. Will switching routes fix it?

Not necessarily. AI tools and streaming services apply their own rules for regions, account eligibility and connection environments. Switching routes can't override a platform's requirements. Check the platform's current service regions, choose one that meets its requirements and confirm that your browser or app is using that connection. If you already have an active session, follow the platform's guidance to sign out and reopen it so an old session isn't mistaken for the result of a new route. Avoid repeatedly switching regions and retrying sign-in or payment in a short period. If restrictions continue, note the platform, its message and the selected region, then submit a support ticket with the troubleshooting details.

Why does the connection seem slower when I add devices if simultaneous connections are unlimited?

Unlimited devices means there's no limit on the number of devices connected at once; it doesn't increase your local network's bandwidth. Devices streaming video, downloading files or syncing data at the same time still compete for local network capacity and use data from your account. Pause high-traffic tasks on other devices, compare performance on one device with the same content, then resume the other tasks one by one. If one device works well but multiple devices slow things down, check your local network and how tasks are distributed. If performance remains poor on a single device, compare other routes and network environments instead of assuming there's just one cause.

BILLING / REFUNDS

Billing & refunds

Check the product name, billing method and order status. Monthly subscriptions and data add-ons have different usage rules. For payment or refund questions, include the relevant order details.

What are the monthly plan prices, and when does data reset?

Monthly plans are ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on your activation date. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated for the remaining days. Estimate your data needs based on how you use the service, such as streaming, file transfers and cloud sync, rather than the number of devices alone. After activation, check your subscription status and data allowance in the user panel. If you're unsure when data resets, check your account's activation record rather than assuming it follows the calendar month. Before upgrading, review the change details shown in the panel and make sure you understand the proration before proceeding.

How are data add-ons billed, and how do they differ from monthly plans?

Data add-ons are ¥158 for 300GB, ¥358 for 1000GB and ¥658 for 3000GB. They remain valid until used and never expire. Monthly plan data resets on your activation date, while data add-ons are used according to your needs; don't assume they follow the same reset schedule. Consider how often you use the service and how much data you need, then check the relevant option on the plans page. Don't assume how data is deducted, combined or converted when you have multiple products. If the panel doesn't clearly explain these details, ask through a support ticket. Before ordering, check the product name, price and data allowance instead of choosing based on price alone.

Which payment methods are supported? What if my panel status doesn't update after payment?

Alipay, WeChat Pay and USDT are supported. Use the order and payment options in the user panel, and check the details shown for your current order. If you've paid but the panel status hasn't changed, check the order record and refresh the page before doing anything else. This helps avoid creating an unnecessary order by clicking again. Keep your order reference and payment result, but don't assume an unconfirmed status means the payment failed. If you still have questions, submit a support ticket with the order, payment method and status shown in the panel. Hide sensitive account details in screenshots, and don't send passwords, full payment credentials or unrelated personal information.

What is the refund policy, and how do I request a refund?

X8VPN offers a 30-day no-questions-asked refund. To request one, read the refund policy, sign in to the user panel and submit a support ticket clearly stating that you want a refund. Include the relevant order details so the payment can be checked. You don't need to complete extensive connection tests first. A troubleshooting ticket isn't automatically a refund request, so state your request explicitly. If you'd also like help with a connection issue, describe what happened and the checks you've already tried separately. Eligibility and handling are subject to the refund policy and review of your ticket. Don't assume a specific processing time or additional compensation.
